Habitat It is found in alpine wetlands and around lakes and ponds.
Distribution Japan domestic Distributed only in Hokkaido. Shiribeshi (Mt. Yotei), and Yoichi mountain range, Daisetsu mountain range, Shiretoko mountain range, and the Kuril Islands.
Japan overseas It is widely distributed in the cold regions of Eurasia, including Alaska, Finland, Russia, and Poland. In recent years, it has also been reported to be seen in the eastern U.S. In terms of its global distribution, the Korean Peninsula and Hokkaido are its southernmost limits.
